As promised, today I’m bringing you Part 2 of my Current Favorites. Today, I’m sharing what I’m loving to “inspire,” “breathe,” and “live.” It’s a pretty diverse crowd, and that’s just how I like it. 🙂
. . .
I’ve been intrigued by genetics ever since we did brief unit on DNA in my junior year biology class. That said, I’m loving Siddhartha Mukherjee’s The Gene, which walks you through the history of this evolving field with incredible detail and precision.
Vogue February issue
I’m super behind on all my magazines, mostly because the latest issues just haven’t hooked me. Vogue’s February issue, however, was overflowing with amazing content, from a stand out “What to Wear Where” editorial to some thought-provoking written content. It sounds cliché, but issues like this remind me why I love magazines.
I first started watching YouTube videos last summer, and since then it’s become one of my favorite ways to wind down and source inspiration/motivation. Over my spring break, I found some new faves in kaileemckenzie, Meghan Hughes, and Sedona Christina. Whether its styling, favorites round-ups, or just chatty Q&As, I love these ladies for their “real girl” attitude towards life…aka something I think we could use more of on the Internet.
Journaling is what’s keeping my sane right now. After a long day of ups and downs, there’s nothing more healing than just getting it all out on paper. (Check out my old journaling routine here!)
After a hiatus from my studio, I’ve been going to hot yoga semi-regularly over the past month. Going to an 8 am class is like a good breakfast- when I leave, I feel totally nourished and empowered to take on my day. Sign me up for more, please!
Girls Season 6 and Big Little Lies
I’m majorly behind on most of my shows right now, but the final (!) season of Girls and Big Little Lies are keeping me more than entertained. I’m two episodes behind on the latter…no spoilers!
I was majorly skeptical when Insta Stories first hit my feed, but not I’m obsessed. It’s so much fun to see sneak peaks into someone’s life, and I find in 10x more manageable that Snapchat. I love checking stories when I need a little escape, like during stretches or on five minutes homework breaks. 🙂
I tend to go through phases with exercise, and right now running is “my thing.” Now that the weather is getting nicer, I’m looking forward to long runs in milder temps. 🙂
. . .
So there you have it: Everything I’ve been loving over the last several weeks. Truth be told, my daily life has been pretty stressful lately, but just thinking about every one of these goodies gives me a little something to smile about. 🙂
I asked this on Monday, but I really want to know, so I’ll say it again: What’re your current favorites? Clothes, food, books, TV shows…lemme know below!
