Despite my love for all things “old-timey,” looking back at my own style history is something I tend to avoid doing. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that
last week my formative years were riddled with sartorial experiments that I’d rather not revisit. That said, it can be fun from time to time to reminisce about style preferences gone by, especially when it comes to reintroducing said preference into your current wardrobe. This is exactly what happened earlier this week, when I stumbled upon a long-forgotten headband and just had to put it on, for nostalgia’s sake.
Before you ask, the answer is yes, I was that girl who wore headbands every day in elementary school. Putting this beauty on, therefore, felt more like stretching an old muscle than diving into the deep end of newness. It was fun to revisit an old signature, and I’ll definitely be incorporating more headbands in my life in the future. Below, see some of my favorite sources of headband inspo, followed by a selection of a couple standout pieces I’m dying to add to my repertoire.
How spectacular is Catherine Deneuve in the top left? And don’t even get me started on Blair Waldorf…three years later and she is still the headband queen.
Okay, onto the stoppable goodies…
Have you ever revisited a style from your past? How’d it go?
