Happy October, everyone! It’s a little crazy that September is already over, and we’re officially past the “beginning” stages of fall. Despite the fact that temps are supposed to be in the 70s this week, it’s clear the new season is here: the leaves are starting to turn and pumpkins are popping up everywhere!
In today’s post I’m finally getting around to sharing what’s on my mind this October. This month’s On My Radar is a little different from the previous…it’s a little bit more personal, and gives you a little peak at what’s up with me! I hope you enjoy. 🙂
We’re Gonna Need Some More Lotion
When I was little, my mom used to lather me with lotion every night. I hated feeling all gooey, and put an end to this ritual as soon as I could. But then I got a pretty nasty sunburn, and found myself lathering moisturizer on every night in search of relief. Seven days later, I’m still doing it! Although I’m still not crazy about that sticky sensation, I love the soothing effect it has on my skin. Right now I’m using Lubriderm and CeraVe, but I’m definitely open to trying new products! Got any recs? Drop them in the comments below.
Over the weekend I stumbled upon the soundtrack to Broadway’s latest hit, Hamilton. I proceeded to spend way too much time jamming out to songs about The Federalist Papers (hey, that counts as studying for APUSH, right?). Now I’m dying to score tickets to see it in person.
As much as I love my American magazines, I’v recently gotten into picking up international editions as well. I found this issue of Japanese Vogue last month, and was blown away by the editorial work in it (I’m sure the writing is great too- alas, I cannot read Japanese). The fashion nerd in me finds it so interesting to see how the same garments and trends are styled and interpreted all over the world. It’s also incredibly eye-opening as to just how “international” the industry is. Who knows? Maybe I’ll work for a foreign publication someday.
I finally got around to putting a cork board up in my room, and I’ve been taking full advantage of it. Although I don’t cut up most of my magazines, I find plenty of inspirational clippings from catalogues and older issues. Actually, one of my favorite sources is WWD Weekly, which features not only interesting articles but also amazing sketches and photographs!
What’s on your radar this October?
