Why settle for a boring ol’ stiletto when you can have something…more? This seemed to be the question on a number of designers minds in preparation for the fall season. While the AW15 runways were home to plenty of nondescript footwear, there were a number of collections that took things a bit further. From the ultra-modern lucite at Dior (above), Alexander McQueen, and Fendi to the corduroy velvet at Givenchy, the everyday heel certainly got its fair share of makeovers. My personal favorite of these was at Salvatore Ferragamo, where the staggered heels dressed in animal skin proved that the word heritage does not guarantee traditional.
