In my day-to-day life, I wouldn’t call myself a modest dresser. Not that I’m the quote-end-quote “naked dress” type either, but I certainly don’t shy away from a short skirt or a slinky top. Would I wear those two things together? Probably not. But I’ve gotten to the point where I am (mostly) comfortable enough with myself to show what I want to show and cover what I want to cover.
That said, there is one article of clothing I am grandma-level conservative about: the swim suit. For as long as I can remember, I’ve never been the bikini type. Don’t ask me why, but I find very few things more uncomfortable. Now, one-pieces…those are more my style.
This wouldn’t be a bad thing, if only there weren’t so few options out there. In my effort to find a new swimsuit for this summer, I realized that a majority of one pieces fall into one of two extremes: some are über risqué, with so many cut-outs there isn’t much suit left, while others are dreadfully boring. After searching for about a month with zero success, I had all but given up hope that the perfect one-piece even existed.
But then I came across a recent edit on Moda Operandi, appropriately titled “One Piece Wonders.” I was thrilled to see that the featured suits weren’t just one-pieces, but they were also incredibly chic. I mean, who doesn’t love a swimsuit with a flamenco-esque ruffle across the top? Or one with a white sash draped across the middle (did someone say slimming?)? I myself practically whooped for joy at the sight of them, and I’m pretty sure you will too…

What do you think of these fabulous one-pieces? Will you be trying any of them out for yourself?
