Inspired By…// The Hamptons

Ah, the Hamptons: That storied stretch of land that encapsulates nearly all of Long Island’s South Fork. For decades the area’s picturesque villages have drawn everyone from America’s most famous families (the Vanderbilts) to creatives (Truman Capote, Jasper Johns) seeking a reprieve from city life. As the years dragged on, one could argue that the locale became even more iconic than the residents themselves. Even in today’s uncertain times, the Hamptons, with its cedar-shaked homes and hydrangea-lined main streets, epitomizes the ultimate summer escape.

Having spent many a summer not far from the Hamptons, I myself have long found inspiration from those tony shores. More specifically, snaps from Hamptons summers past never fail to get me excited about my summer wardrobe.  I mean, there must be something in the water out East, because its residents are the perfect example of warm weather fashion at its best: We’re talking effortless and on-the-go, with a serious shot of metropolitan swank. Don’t believe me? Check out a few of these shots below:

I think these pictures speak for themselves as to why, year after year, the Hamptons never fails to serve up summer style motivation inspiration. Want to capture the vibe for yourself? Feel free to shop my picks below, all of them pieces that will have you looking carefree and lobster roll-ready in no time.
