Happy Monday, dear readers! Can you believe it’s already time to discuss what’s “On My Radar” for May?! It feels like just yesterday I was writing this post for April!

Time warps aside, the next few weeks are looking pretty exciting, if I do say so myself. From art openings to movie releases, May 2015 is chock full of fun things. I’m especially grateful for that given the fact that it’s officially crunch time at school: we’re down to count until the last day, and I’ll be needing the extra motivation to get me through all the tests and projects. 🙂

So, here’s what’s up:

Whitney Museum Re-opening. Okay, okay, so this technically already happened on, like, Friday. But, hey, I couldn’t resist including the reopening on the iconic Whitney Museum of American Art on this list. After months of renovations, the museum has finally made its debut at its new Meatpacking District locale. And, judging from the preview snaps floating around Instagram, it was well worth the wait.

Met Gala 2015. It’s here, you guys: The red carpet to end all red carpets. The night fashion followers anticipate the way most people do the Oscars. Tonight, May 4, is the 2015 Met Gala, also known as the biggest night in the industry. Hosted annually, the event marks the opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s new Costume Institute exhibition. This year’s hotly anticipated display (and party theme) is China: Through the Looking Glass, which celebrates the country’s influence on fashion through the years. Needless to say, you can expect see everyone who is anyone in the fashion world in attendance, from Anna Wintour and Lauren Santo Domingo to Anthony Vaccarello and Stella McCartney.

Cruising. It may feel as if the fall lines were just paraded down the runways, but it’s already time for the cruise collections. Several major fashion houses have announced plans to debut their latest offerings throughout this month, with Chanel kicking things off today in Seoul (Met Gala vs. Chanel show…now that’s a tough call). Louis Vuitton is set to follow quickly en suite with its own presentation in Los Angeles on Wednesday. And then it’s back over to Europe in time for the Dior show in the Riviera on May 11. The fashion set better get their rest while they can, because rest assured jet lag will be their friend for a while.

Pitch Perfect 2 Release. Are you aca-ready? Because I am. May 15 marks the release of one of the year’s most talked-about movies: the follow-up to the smash hit Pitch Perfect. Given that I literally cry laughing while watching the first one, I’m excited to see (hear?) what the Barden Bellas have been up to lately.

Cupcakes and Cashmere at Home Release. As far as lifestyle bloggers go, Emily Schuman of Cupcakes & Cashmere is kind of the reigning queen. Hers is one of the first blogs I started reading, and was a major source of inspiration behind my decision to launch A Style Study. I adore her first book, Cupcakes and Cashmere, and cannot wait to see what her latest edition, Cupcakes and Cashmere at Home has to offer. For those of you who are interested, it will be available on May 19th!

Like I said, May is looking pretty darn good to me. What are you eager for this month?

xx
