Did you catch the post a few months back about rad.co’s impressive selection of witty t-shirts? Well, despite my enthusiasm at the time, I never did get around to purchasing one of their pieces for myself. In fact, my closet has remained cheeky t-shirt-less…that is, until I came across this gem:
You know how in romantic comedies, there’s always that big moment when the girl and the guy’s eyes meet for the first time? That’s kind of how it was for me and this shirt. I was in Zara a few weeks ago, and in between racks of their spring collection (which is perfect, by the way), I caught a glimpse of this printed t-shirt. Right away, I knew it needed to be mine. It had everything I almost didn’t know I was looking for: an ironic combination old-world elegance (hence the portrait) and of-the-moment pop culture (enter the rap lyric and sunglasses) translated into an easy-to-wear piece that could easily become a staple. Needless to say, I left the store with the t-shirt in tow.
I’ve worn my new t-shirt a couple times since out fateful meeting, and I am proud to say it is just as great as I hoped it would be. It’s easily one of my most versatile items: when wearing it, I can transition from dressed-down homebody to downtown chic simply by throwing on ankle boots and a moto jacket. Worth the $20.00 price tag? I think yes.
In the time since my purchase, I’ve also had a chance to do some digging to Zara’s other t-shirt offerings. As it turns out, the brand’s more casual line, Zara Trafaluc, has more than a few great options. So great, in fact, that I just might be tempted to grow my fledgling collection. Here are a few of my favorites:
Will you be adding a Zara t-shirt to your wardrobe?
