Lately, I’ve been feeling seriously bored with my shoe game. Maybe its just the winter chill that’s got me feeling down, but I’m craving a pretty pair to spice up my closet. Do I have anything specific in mind? Well, since you asked, I certainly wouldn’t mind anything from the Stubbs + Wootton x Happy Menocal for Moda Operandi collection.
In this superb collab between the respected footwear heritage brand and NYC-based illustrator (who is a trusted favorite of the fashion set when it comes to gorgeous part invites), the kitchsy elegance of the velvet slipper comes perfectly together with a little 21st-century cheekiness. Case point: the emoji-reminiscent dollar and euro sign, as well as some playful mismatch action with the Metamorphosis and Nite N’ Day slippers. I mean, if these beauties don’t get you excited about shoes, I don’t know what will.
Now, if only I could scrape together the funds to purchase a pair (I’ve got my eye on the Bespoke Crown Crest slipper above). The trunk show ends in ten days, so my odds are looking…dismal, at best.So I guess it’s back to the rotation of black tall boots, black ankle boots, L.L.Bean boots for me.
