Happy New Year’s Eve, readers! Can you believe that 2015 is already upon us? It feels as if 2014 just flew by!
While pondering how to incorporate the New Year’s festivities in to my blog, I kept coming back the idea of how almost everyone that I know makes some kind of health/fitness related resolution come January 1. Given that I have spent some time talking about what you might call “healthy living” here on A Style Study, I decided what better way to ring in 2015 than with a workout challenge?
With that idea in mind I put together a plank schedule for the month of January. Why planks? Well, not only are they super effective and especially good for you core, but they also happen to be one of my favorite exercise moves, not mention extremely customizable. Be sure to let me know if you would like me to do a brief tutorial of the various plank position sometime in the future!
So here’s the deal: I challenge you all to spend some time each day doing a plank. We will start off tomorrow with twenty seconds, and gradually work our way up to three minutes by January 31 (!). If that is sounding like a lot, don’t worry! There are breaks every four or so days, and the we will be going a very steady pace to ensure that you don’t feel like you are pushing yourself too hard!
