Stationary Motivation

Ah, the day after Christmas. It’s similar to the day after any much-anticipated event in that you never know quite what to do with yourself now that your thoughts are not being consumed by that of holiday fun. As weird as it sounds, I think that December 26 is perhaps one of the weirdest days of the year, mood-wise. One way to beat the post-Christmas blues? Keeping yourself occupied by writing thank-you notes for the gifts you’ve received over the past few days.

Growing up, my parents were HUGE on writing thank-you cards. I used to hate it, but now that I am older and can understand the meaning behind receiving a thank-you, I cannot help but be grateful that they instilled that habit in me. In fact, I’ve come to find writing notes in general a very therapeutic process. But for those of you who still think of writing a thank-you note the same way you would a test? That’s where stationary comes into play.

Stationary is probably one of my many would-be guilty pleasures. If I could, I would stock up on adorable card sets and display them all around my room. It’s hard not to feel that way – they make so many beautiful designs nowadays! So, in honor of the legions of thank-you notes we will all be writing in the next few days, I’ve put together a list of what I consider to be among the best stationary sets out there. Not only are they perfect for notes, but they’re so darn cute they are sure to leave not only the recipient but you yourself with a smile on your face!

::one:: Regardless of wether or not you like the taste of them, you cannot deny that macaroons are perhaps one of the most visually appealing foods out there. Just imagine how lovely these will be for your loved one receives a thank-you note on this stationary in the mail!

::two:: I generally prefer more ambiguous stationary, but who can resist the divine simplicity of this gold-foil printed set from Sugar Paper LA?!

::three:: Okay, okay, I know it’s still winter, but I cannot help but wish that I had these punchy cards to write my Christmas thank-you notes on this year!

::five:: Aside from expressing your gratitude, thank-you cards are the perfect moment for telling someone how much you love and appreciate them. With this gold-stamped set from photographer Garance Doré’s line for Rifle Paper Co., they’ll get the message before they’ve even read your message!

I hope that this post gave you a little extra motivation to get down to writing those thank-you notes. After all, who doesn’t want to let the loved ones in your life know how much their generosity means to you, especially on beautiful paper goods?
