We all have that random thing that makes us happy. For some people, it’s a brand-new, unblemished notebook. For others, it’s cracking open a new tube of lip gloss. Me? I have an affinity for mugs. Yep, you heard right mugs. Aside from the fact that I religiously drink one cup of tea every morning, there is something about a stout, pretty little mug that never fails to make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I mean, how cool is it when an everyday household item is spruced up a bit so that it could almost double as home décor? I think that’s pretty awesome, so for today’s post I decided to share with you a round-up of a few mugs that are most certainly at the top of my wish list this year.
::one:: How can you not love Anthropologie’s Skyway Mug? Not only is it the perfect size, but it’s got an adorable little thumb handle to up the unique factor. With it’s moody blue coloring and bridge illustration, this lovely is perfect for a rainy day spent daydreaming about an exciting life in a big city…
::two:: Say what you want, but the Brits have the art of tea drinking down to a science. These Gold Lustre mugs from the UK-based Luna Lighting are sure to give your day a little sparkle before it even starts. Not to mention, with their festive detailing, these are also great for the holiday season! Hot cocoa, anyone?
::three:: I don’t know about the rest of you, but the I all too often forget the fact that “I’ve got this”. One thing I do remember? To drink my tea in the morning. Rest assured, with this mug by my side, I’ll walk out the door every day with my head a little higher. And, hey, we can’t ask for much more than that.
::four:: I’m not so sure I would call this a “mug”. Once one takes into account the intricate multi-color pattern, not to mention the almost surrealist horse’s head, this Jonathan Adler goodie becomes nothing short of art.
::five:: Lastly, I had to include this darling Kate Spade piece. This mug was cute when they decided to slap a flamingo on it (the feathers. Do you see the feathers?!). And then, they had to go and add the metallic gold ring around the rim. I mean, if this isn’t shelf candy, then I don’t know what is.
What’s your favorite item to have around the house? Even better, what is it that made you love it in the first place?
