Okay, okay, okay. I know we were literally just talking about the fall campaigns, but the first of the Spring 2015 ads are rolling out, and I couldn’t be more excited. Scratch that, actually. I couldn’t be more excited about one campaign in particular, and that is Louis Vuitton’s spring handbag series, shot by Peter Lindbergh and starring Michelle Williams
This is the third season in a row that the pixie-haired actress has posed for French house’s leather goods ads, and it’s clear she’s now a seasoned pro. Although seasons past have seen Williams doing everything from straddling bicycle to emerging from a steamer trunk, all while clutching her Louis bag, this spring’s portrait series went in a simpler direction. The color palette is a sort of “moody pastels” if you will, with soft yellows, cream, pinks, and sky blue offset by a greige backdrop. Even Williams’ makeup is pared down; last season’s cherry red lips were replaced by a barely-there mocha shade.
The stars of the show, of course, were the leather beauties. The actress kept a firm grip on the storied label’s Capucine and Lockit bags, some of them done in the spring’s debut shade, “Outremer”. After seeing the way Ms. Williams looks holding those bags, I have no doubt women all over the world we be clamoring to get their hands on one.
What are your thoughts on Michelle Williams for Louis Vuitton? Are there any favorite campaigns of your own?
