This morning, it was announced that Christophe Lemaire, artistic director of womenswear at Hermès, will be vacating his position.
The native Frenchman departs after four years with the iconic label. During this time he helped to redefine its ready-to-wear with an aesthetic drawing upon his own trademark simplicity and the house’s luxurious heritage.
Lemaire now has his sights set on expanding his own label. His final collection for Hermès will be presented during the upcoming Spring/Summer 2015 season. A replacement has yet to be named.
What are your thoughts on Christophe Lemaire leaving Hermès? Will you miss his work or are you more excited to see who takes the lead?
